Chovdar deposit
The Chovdar gold deposit is located in the northern part of Dashkesan district. According to the agreement signed between AzerGold CJSC and Star Mining LLC, Star Mining LLC has been conducting mining, crushing and agglomeration works at the deposit since 2017. The total proven gold resources of the deposit are 1,661,000 ounces (51.5 tons of ore). Of this volume, 363,500 ounces are surface (oxide) and 1,298,000 ounces are underground (sulfide) ores. Of the volume calculated for the oxide phase, 233,000 ounces are economically viable and technically recoverable gold.
The features of the geological structure of the deposit - the widespread distribution of hydrothermal-alteration rocks, the presence of barite-polymetallic veins, polymetallic and copper-sulfide vein-containing mineralization areas indicate its high prospects. The gold content in the limited and partially (up to 150 m) deep "Center" ore body varies in a large amplitude (from 1 g/t to -100 g/t and more), and is on average 8-10 g/t.
